356.7 °C – Olga Dermott-Bond



Olga is originally from Northern Ireland and lives in Warwickshire. She has had poetry and flash fiction published in a wide range of magazines.  She was the winner of the BBC Proms poetry competition in 2019. Her first pamphlet ‘apple, fallen’ is published this month by Against the Grain Press. She is a teacher and has two daughters.

  1. I love the urgent rhythm in this poem and the accumulation of powerful images is impressive such as “chewing glass shards like strepsils”, “seatbelt heavy”, “pockets weighted with fallen confessions”, “gritty with aspirin and disbelief”. A veritable tour de force!
